The Evolution of the Tracy Village Football Club
Carlton United Sunday Competition aka ‘C’ Grade
This competition was founded in 1978 as a means of giving players who were unable to get a game in the Northern Territory Football League a chance to play. The inaugural clubs were North Darwin, Combined Services and Banks, whilst Wanderers, Darwin and Nightcliff had irregular appearances.
The North Darwin team in this competition was the precursor of the team that would eventually become the Tracy Village Razorbacks. This competition struggled through four seasons owing largely to the lack of support from NTFL clubs.

Northern Territory Football Association
The Carlton United Sunday Competition was transformed in 1982 into the Northern Territory Football Association. The charter for this competition was to give everyone the opportunity to play Aussie Rules regardless of perceived ability or otherwise. Clubs were also to be totally independent of NTFL clubs. The inaugural members of the NTFA were Combined Services and Banks, from the defunct Sunday competition, and new teams Jabiru, PINT, Katherine and East Darwin.
East Darwin was formed by players from the North Darwin and Saint Mary's teams from the defunct Carlton United Sunday competition and was initially known as the East Darwin Beasts. They wore Footscray style guernseys of blue, red and white and competed for three seasons.
In 1985 the East Darwin Beasts changed their name to the Tracy Village Terriers. The NTFA competition continued on in this fashion until 1991, with the only notable changes being to the clubs name. Firstly it was changed to the Tracy Village Villagers and thence to the Tracy Village Razorbacks, as we are still known today.
In 1991 a reserves competition was introduced and Tracy Village entered a side.

Top End Australian Football Association
The NTFA chugged along for the next nine years and then in 2000 had a name change to the Top End Australian Football Association (TEAFA). The TEAFA years saw the standard of the competition improve to the extent that AFLNT, the governing body for AFL in the Territory, proposed to merge the NTFL and TEAFA leagues.

Northern Territory Football League
TEAFA and the NTFL merged in 2010. The NTFL ‘A’ grade became the Premier League, the NTFL ‘B’ grade and TEAFA ‘A’ grades merged into Division 1 and the TEAFA ‘B’ grade, plus some teams from NTFL clubs formed Division 2.
Tracy Village fielded senior teams in Division 1 and 2, and began expansion plans by introducing an Under 13 team in the NTFL junior competition.
The 2012/13 season promises to be the Razorbacks biggest yet, with the expansion of our junior teams to include Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 teams as well as the introduction of a Womens team. The celebration of the clubs 30th birthday also promises to make it a memorable season.
